SMARTgirls
Did you know?
Women comprise only 24% of the STEM careers and only 18% of Engineering careers?
SMARTgirls is focused on getting girls 5th-8th interested and staying interested in Science and Math. We use hands-on STEM activities and guest speakers from STEM professions to engage and encourage girls to peak their interest. Our hope is that they will get engaged and gain confidence to take the higher maths and sciences in high school and college.
SMARTgirls offers after school activities at all Wylie ISD intermediate schools, saturday clubs for junior highs. We also offer Saturday workshops that are open enrollment throughout the year.
Our big offering happens in the summer! We offer 5-6 summer camps on different topics each summer...
